DC Swing! Performance at Finale of Intersections

Intersections - 2012

Please join DC Swing! as we perform at the finale of Intersections: A New American Arts Festival, on Sunday, March 11, 2012. The tea dance will start at 5:30pm, at the Sprenger Theater in the ATLAS Performing Arts Center (located at 1333 H Street NE). The dance will end at 7:00pm, and includes three sets of dance music.

Our 18-piece big band will perform such great standards as Fly Me to the Moon, Satin Doll, Moonlight Serenade and many more. In addition to saxes, trombones, trumpets and a kickin' rhythm section, DC Swing! features the cool vocal sounds of Justin Bank. Our music will make you want to get up and dance, so come on out and join us for a fun evening!

Community Music, Service and Fun for over 30 Years

DC's Different Drummers is the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area's music organization for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, family and friends with several performing groups including the Capitol Pride Symphonic Band (CPSB), Capitol Pride Winds, DC Swing! big band, DCDD Marching Band, Pep Band, and several small ensembles. We welcome all of our friends and supporters in our 31st year!

In addition to creating fine music, our goals are to have fun, play with pride, work together, and educate others. Although we have differing backgrounds, experiences, talents and abilities, we share the goal of excellence in music.

As a volunteer community musical organization, we have in our ranks professional musicians, music students, former members of the top military bands, and individuals whose last musical performances date back to their high school or college days.

Please contact our Membership Director for information on performing and volunteering with us!
