Last night’s performance at As You Are DC with Clocked Comedy marked the end of the 2024-25 season for DC’s Different Drummers Jazz Band, and they certainly ended on a high note (pun intended)!
Over the last season, in less than one calendar year, DCDD’s Jazz big band and small combo “2nd Independence” performed across all 8 wards of Washington DC, bringing queer jazz and joy with them each step of the way! Congratulations to the DCDD Jazz Band for this incredible achievement, and thank you to all who came out to enjoy the music and build community.
We’d also like to extended a special thanks to the DC Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs for their grant to our Jazz Band, and to all the venues that hosted their shows along the way!
