After a thrilling holiday season, DC’s Different Drummers ensembles are preparing for a spectacular spring 2026! Here’s a peek behind the scenes and key dates to mark on your calendars so you don’t miss a thing:

Winter Guard

Our guard has already been rehearsing for their 2026 show, and has a number of performances throughout February and March leading up to the AIA North Championships in Hampton, VA. Check out our events page for a full schedule of show dates!

Jazz Band

On March 22nd, 2026, jazz band will premiere their spring 2026 show Florals, for Spring? Groundbreaking inspired, of course, by the iconic film The Devil Wears Prada and the ubiquity of botanical-themed jazz tunes. The band will be premiering an original piece written by our pianist Brandon Boxbaum and arranged by friend-of-the-band and iconic big band arranger Mike Kamuf! On top of that, drag queen Venus Valhalla will be hosting the concert in a Miranda Priestly-inspired drag look you won’t want to miss.

Symphonic Band

Symphonic band’s spring concert entitled Voices Lifted will feature works by BIPOC composers. Come out to their performance on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 7:00 PM at The Church of the Epiphany!

Marching Band

Stay tuned (pun intended) for more information regarding our 2026 marching band schedule! Rehearsals are expected to begin in April. Interested members are encouraged to reach out via our membership inquiry page, and keep an eye out for details regarding an open house event!
